These days people are angry about everything and hate “anybody” who gets in their way, PERIOD! But, there is a price to be paid for outrage, sometimes a serious cost to ones firestorm of the soul!
The 18th-century British physician John Hunter, who was a pioneer in the field of surgery and served as surgeon to King George III, suffered from angina. Discovering that his attacks were often brought on by anger, Hunter lamented, “My life is at the mercy of any scoundrel who chooses to put me in a passion.” These words proved prophetic, for at a meeting of the board of St. George’s Hospital in London, Hunter got into a heated argument with other board members, walked out, and dropped dead in the next room.
Think about it. How do you work through your anger issues? There are several bodily signs of anger. These include grinding of the teeth, clenching of the fists, headache or stomach ache, an increased heart rate, feeling hot or dizzy, redness of the face, having sweaty palms, or clenching of the fists or general tensing of your body are a few.
Fools give full vent to their rage, but the wise bring calm in the end. Proverbs 29:11. A person’s wisdom yields patience; it is to one’s glory to overlook an offense. ~ Proverbs 19:11. A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.
