The Apostle Peter has some “common sense” words for us today! 1 Peter 3:8-12

WE are told to be of one mind, that means unified as brothers and sisters in Christ. We are to do these things love as brothers and sisters, be tenderhearted and be courteous! WE are told not to return evil for evil. The reward for not returning evil for evil is that along the way we will receive a blessing. What’s the blessing? Peter doesn’t spell that out in this text. Christians who live a life of humility and who walk with God are aware that the Lord blesses us in an abundance when we honor Him and His Word.

Peter goes on to mention that if we want to enjoy a good life and see good days we need to be careful of how we talk and what we say. We are to keep our lips from deceitfulness and lying, we are to turn away from evil and do good, we are to seek and pursue peace.

The Apostle reminds us in this text that the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and His eyes are open to their prayers!

Likewise, God turns His back on those who do evil. What does this mean? How have you seen this happen?

How have you seen this play out in your own life? When you honor God with your words and behaviors, what is your life like?

What happens when you forget about God, do your own thing, live with a vengeful and antagonistic spirit?

What happens when you fail to live close to God and the plan that He has set before you?
